About UNSW DOI Service Help

The UNSW DOI Service enables UNSW affiliated staff and students (with a ZID) to request a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for grey literature and non-traditional research outputs deposited in UNSWorks Institutional Repository.

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a persistent and unique identifier for research outputs. The purpose of DOIs is to identify, cite and link research.

A DOI can be requested for the following publication types: reports, working papers, conference posters, conference papers, conference presentations, media items, music compositions, creative works, and submissions to government.

DOIs are automatically minted for theses and datasets in the new UNSWorks platform. The UNSW DOI service will be decommissioned in Q4 2022 and eligible grey literature and non-traditional research will automatically be assigned DOIs in the new platform.

Contact your Outreach Librarian for any DOI queries.
